Overnight stays in domestic short-term rental accommodation recorded a significant annual increase of 15.2% in the first quarter of this year.
According to data Eurostat published on Wednesday on the course of the sector, the increase in Greece was among the largest in Europe and the largest among destinations in Southern Europe, surpassing Spain (2.8%), Italy (5.9%) and France (5.6%).
In Portugal, the first quarter of this year ended with a marginal decrease of 0.2% year-on-year.
In total, 2.81 million overnight stays were recorded in short-term rental accommodation in Greece in the first quarter, based on the official data platforms send to Eurostat.
